Book 21: On Rice

Title: On Rice --
60 fast and easy toppings that make the meal

Who wrote it: Rick Rodgers (Author),
Frankie Frankeny (Photographer)

Whom I borrowed it from: Queens Library (Forest Hills)

What is it about:
An extensive introduction of the MANY MANY
kinds of grains available in the market,
a collection of recipes
(stews, stir-fries, meat, veggies, desserts...)
that can be cooked under 30 minutes to go with rice,
as well as some neat pics that illustrate the recipes.

What went through my mind:
- It's interesting to see the fusion-ness in this book,
since Rice usually gives off the impression: 'Asian related',
the author mixes things up, and offered American /
French ideas here and there : )

- I borrowed this book with the original intent of
getting ideas for my Rice-Pot Wonders experiments
(See this: http://sharethefood.blogspot.com/
2008/01/rice-pot-wonder-1.html
),
however, i didn't get too many from it : /
Mostly because he's creating On Rice dishes,
not OVER, nor WITH.

- I did, however, liked the desserts section.
For I've never made any desserts with rice before,
& i'd like to try : D

What came out of this:
* Goal: Create new Rich dishes! : D
(Andrew, wanna come over for dinner?)

Why Should you read it, too?
If you cook and don't mind a quick meal with rice : )
